- Plan ahead

It can be difficult to stay focused at work, setting personal deadlines controls procrastination, and improves our ability to complete tasks. So, try setting yourself a deadline that’s realistic, but still close enough to create a sense of urgency.

Researchers from the University of Wageningen in the Netherlands found that drinking green tea and black tea can improve your focus. This is because both these tea flavors contain an amino acid called L-Theanine which elevate levels of dopamine (the ‘feel-good’ brain chemical).
- Take breaks
As we’ve mentioned before, your brain is not a concentration machine. For it to perform at its best, it needs regular breaks to refresh. A study from Florida State University found that productivity is at highest during 90-minute intervals. Try planning your tasks into 90-minute chunks with 15-minute breaks in between.
- Get the rhythm
Be aware of when your brain works best, it lets you organise your daily tasks for optimum productivity. Prioritise those time-consuming, not-so-fun, nitty-gritty tasks for whichever time of day you’re most energised. You’ll find your work-flow much smoother.
