Dressing:

The Bowl (suggested components):

  • Black rice or barley or quinoa, cooked & warm 1.5 cup
  • Roasted sweet potatoes, dice 0.25 cup
  • Roasted chickpeas 0.3 tsp
  • Roasted king mushrooms 2.0 pc
  • Baby Spinach leaves, washed & trimmed 0.25 cup
  • Firm tofu, steamed or pan-fried, sliced into thin squares 5.0 slices
  • Hass Avocado, peeled and sliced 1.0 pc
  • Carrots, fine julienne 1.0 tbsp

Garnish:

  • Toasted black and white sesame seeds
  • Pickled beets, fine julienne
  • Furikake

Preparation

  1. Dressing:

    • To prepare the dressing, placeKnorr Professional Teriyaki Sauceand all other ingredients in a blender. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Set aside in the chiller until ready to use.
    • The quantity of this dressing is good for more than one serving. Store the rest of the dressing in an air-tight container in the chiller.
  2. The Bowl (suggested components):

    • To assemble the bowl, start by layering the bottom of a serving bowl with the rice or grains. Arrange the other ingredients on top.
    • Serve the bowl with a side of sate dressing (about 60ml per serving).
  3. Garnish:

    • Garnish with the toasted black and white sesame seeds, pickled beets, and Furikake. Furikake is a dry Japanese condiment made of dried fish, sesame seeds, seaweed, and seasonings. It is oftentimes sprinkled on top of cooked rice, vegetables, and fish.
