Country Gravy (500 ML)


Country gravy is a classic, rich, and creamy sauce made with pan drippings, flour, milk, and seasonings. A staple in American diners, it is often served with biscuits, fried chicken, or chicken-fried steak. This gravy has a smooth texture and a savory taste, often enhanced with ingredients like bacon, sausage, or black pepper. Versatile and delicious, this recipe can be used not only for fried but also pan-roasted chicken, burger steaks, meatballs, and as a sauce topping for potato dishes.

Preparation

  1. Country Gravy (500 ML)

    • In a pan, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the skillet.
    • Add the onion and garlic to the pan.  Cook until it becomes translucent, about 5 minutes.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the Knorr Cream of Mushroom Soup with the water until well combined.
    • Pour the mushroom soup mixture into the skillet with the onions and garlic. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer.
    • Add the milk to the skillet, stirring continuously to ensure a smooth consistency.
    • Season with Knorr Chicken Cube and pepper
    • Add the cooked bacon back into the skillet and stir to combine.
    • Continue to simmer the gravy for 5-10 minutes, allowing it to thicken and the flavors to meld together. Stir occasionally.
    • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
